Application and Admission

Each year a number of (approximately) 20 students will be admitted to Year 1 and Year 2. Our ambition is to create a dynamic group from different personalities, regardless of gender, age and ethnic background.

But we also want applicants with earlier experience from filmmaking, which could be from a Media Program (secondary level) or from working on a film project. Validation of work experience is possible. You need to have three years of Swedish secondary education in order to apply (or the equivalent of that in your country). On the right side of this page you will find a link to the application form.

Please note that all classes at the Film Program will be in taught English (starting from the Fall semester 2018)

If your application is incomplete you will be asked to send in the missing information, otherwise we cannot process your application.

Film and Acting have admission days, when we invite a number of applicants to our School for interviews and try-outs. Please contact us if you cannot be here in person, so we can arrange a Skype interview instead.

You will receive a notification if you are admitted or not at the end of June (at the latest). When admitted, you will have to confirm your position by paying an admission fee of 300 SEK. This sum will be transferred to your class fund and used for study trips.

About the application

In order for your application to be valid you must submit:

  • Copy of your birth certificate
  • Cover letter (explain why you are applying, who you are, previous experience from filmmaking)
  • Copy of your latest grades (highest education)
  • Job certificates (if any) from your latest workplaces (and what your position has been)
  • References (not from a family member or close friend)
  • Earlier experience
  • Digital copies of work samples (which could be screenplays, photographs, films)

Together with your application, please enclose a film idea and also a screenplay. If you have a film on dvd or a digital copy, make sure it is in the H.264 format (and that it can be played). You can also send a functioning link to your film on the internet. Your work samples are meant to provide us with an example of your ability to express yourself.
