The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic is located at the Central Hospital in Karlstad and is part of Folktandvården Värmland. The clinic is co-located with the Department of Radiology and Orofacial Medicine, and together we are just over 40 employees.

The activities at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic cover a wide range of surgical care, such as orthognathic and trauma surgery, arthroscopy/arthrocentesis, as well as advanced dentoalveolar surgery and oral medicine. Currently, we have an ongoing specialist training program in oral and maxillofacial surgery, as well as assistant dentists at the clinic in addition to existing oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

We have well-established cooperation with other dental specialties and hospital-based care units such as ENT, rheumatology, etc.

Folktandvården Värmland is characterized by a flat organization with short communication paths, enabling good and unpretentious contacts between colleagues. In relation to the size of the county, we have a long tradition with a large volume of orthognathic surgery. If you want to conduct part-time research or develop and broaden the existing care panorama, our clinic is characterized by a desire to be at the forefront, and we are positive about various development opportunities. We strive daily to maintain high-quality care with a focus on patient safety.

Folktandvården Värmland is part of Region Värmland and has 17 general dental clinics, spread across 24 different units – from Sysslebäck in the north to Säffle in the southwest. In addition, there are clinics in all specialist areas that treat patients on referral. We are a forward-looking organization with a focus on quality and competence.
